Frequently asked questions
How or where do Citymain obtain my details?
When you purchase your Insurance from Insure & Go, your details are passed onto
Citymain who administer the insurance on behalf of Insure & Go.
How much is my premium and how will it be collected?
The premium is calculated as a percentage of the purchase price of your computer
at the time of purchase and will be shown in your confirmation email. The premium
will be collected by credit/debit card by Insure & Go for an annual policy and
will include IPT (insurance premium tax).
When does my insurance cover commence?
Your computer is covered from when you receive your confirmation email. Cover is
for a period of 12 months and can continue for further periods of 12 months subject
to receipt of each annual premium.
Am I able to benefit from this cover if I live outside the UK?
Regretfully the coverage is only available to those people who are permanently resident
in the United Kingdom, Isle of Man or the Channel Islands. However, you are covered
whilst temporarily visiting any other country during the period of insurance.
What am I covered for?
This policy covers you for Theft, Accidental Damage and Breakdown.
Why shouldn't I cover this under my household Insurance?
This policy is a dedicated insurance policy especially for computers, ensuring rapid
replacement or repair of your laptop in the event of a valid claim. Household policies
often have a much higher excess and a claim for your computer will more than likely
affect your no claims bonus.
My computer has just stopped working?
If you have not damaged the computer by accident, and you bought the computer less
than a year ago, it is likely that the computer is covered by the manufacturer's
warranty. In this case please contact your Manufacturers Warranty Department. If
you purchased the computer in excess of a year ago, call the claim line on 0844
576 2304
If my computer has been stolen, how do I make a claim?
In the event of theft notify the appropriate local Police authority within 24 hours
of discovering the theft and obtain a Crime Reference Number.
Contact the claims line on 0844 576 2304 within 48 hours of discovering the theft
(or in the event of an incident occurring outside of the UK, within 48 hours of
returning to the UK). You will be sent a claim form for completion which must be
returned within 30 days of notifying the claim together with your excess payment
of £25 (£75 if the incident has occurred outside of the UK).
Your claim will be assessed and subject to a valid claim the replacement of your
computer will be authorised.
In the event of Accidental Damage or Breakdown (outside of the manufacturers warranty):
Contact the claims line on 0844 576 2304 within 48 hours of discovering the incident
(or in the event of an incident occurring outside of the UK, within 48 hours of
returning to the UK).
You will be sent a claim form for completion which must be returned within 30 days
of notifying the claim, together with your excess payment of £25 (£75 if incident
occurred outside of the UK). The computer must be returned to the address you will
be given at the time.
Your claim will be assessed and subject to a valid claim the repair or replacement
of your computer will be authorised as appropriate.
Can I fax my claim form to you?
Regretfully Underwriters require an original, signed copy of the claim form. If
you post this to us first class, we will process it the same day we receive it in
our office. The address you should post your claim form to is:

Where can I obtain a copy of the insurance terms and conditions?
If you would like a further copy of the terms and conditions, please visit our
terms and conditions
download page.
How long is my claim likely to take?
All paperwork is processed in our office the same day. If your computer is being
replaced, please allow three working days. If your computer is being repaired, please
allow ten working days.
How can I make an enquiry about my insurance?
Please telephone 0844 576 2304.
